Poll Vault: Best gift you’ve given or received for Father’s Day?

As columnist Burt Constable reported earlier this week, the average American will spend $119.84 on a Father’s Day gift this year.

There are more than 70 million dads across the country, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, so that’s a lot of neckties.

I don’t remember ever giving my father a tie, but he has received plenty of shirts, books and tools over the years. My custom over the past 10+ years, though, has been to buy him tickets to a St. Louis Cardinals game. Winning always fits.
