Washington Street open house:

An open house regarding the reconstruction of Washington Street is set for 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, June 17, at the Round Lake Park Village Hall, 203 East Lake Shore Drive. The project involves rebuilding and widening Washington Street, between Hainesville Road and Cedar Lake Road, to three lanes and adding a right-turn lane and resurfacing Cedar Lake Road. The rebuilt road will include a shared center-turn lane, east and west bicycle lanes and new sidewalk from Cedar Lake Road to Grandview Drive. It also includes water main and drainage improvements, a new traffic signal at Cedar Lake Road and construction of a retaining wall. Residents and business owners can get information on construction plans and schedules, road closures and detours, and learn how to stay informed about operations during the project. Attendees will be able to view the project plans and speak with consultants.
