Wood Dale company to display powertrain systems
Clean technology engine supplier Power Solutions International, of Wood Dale, will present its newest fuel-flexible powertrain systems at the upcoming 2013 Alternative Clean Transportation Expo.
The company will showcase its 4.8-liter, 6.0-liter, and 8.8-liter power systems as well as a new clean-fuel delivery truck. The truck is part of a pilot program on which PSI is collaborating with a national grocery-delivery fleet.
The ACT Expo is the largest gathering of clean-vehicle stakeholders in the U.S. and will run from June 24-27 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC. PSI will be showcasing its new cleantech products at booth 331.
"Corporate, municipal and delivery fleets are moving toward alternative fuels, due to environmental regulations, high compliance costs and volatile fuel prices," said Jeremy Lessaris, Director of Marketing at PSI. "ACT Expo is the perfect place for us to present the fuel-flexible powertrain solutions that fleets are seeking."
With the addition of the new 4.8-liter and 6.0-liter power systems, PSI is accelerating its entrance into the on-highway market, which began last year with the launch of its 8.8-liter engine.
In March, PSI announced a multiyear supply agreement with General Motors for the use of its 4.8-liter and 6.0-liter engines and associated transmissions for medium-duty truck and bus powertrain solutions. With the addition of these GM products, PSI now offers one of the industry's most comprehensive product lines for certified alternative-fuel Class-4 through Class-8 on-highway powertrains.
