Man arrested in Hoffman Estates, charged with third DUI

A Chicago man who has been convicted twice of driving under the influence of alcohol was charged with another DUI early Friday in Hoffman Estates. Juan Adame was also charged with driving on a suspended license. A Cook County judge set bail for Adame at $85,000 Friday.

The 28-year-old was convicted of DUI in 2008 and again in 2009, when he was sentenced to 18 months in prison, said Assistant State’s Attorney Moe Ahmad after Adame’s bond hearing Friday.

Hoffman Estates police pulled Adame over near Route 62 and Ela Road after they observed him swerving over the centerline, Ahmad said. The defendant’s blood alcohol concentration was .180, more than twice the legal limit of .08.

Adame next appears in court on June 28.
