After resident tips, Lake in the Hills man arrested on drug charges
A 32-year-old man faces felony charges after authorities raided his home in Lake in the Hills and seized more than $1,400 worth of drugs, officials said Thursday.
Jason A. Gallagher, of the 1100 block of Poplar Street, is charged with felony possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance, and other misdemeanors after police seized 125 grams of pot and 38 Diazepam pills, the McHenry County Sheriff’s Department said.
Gallager faces up to seven years in prison, if found guilty, on the most serious charge. He posted bond Wednesday morning and is next due in court June 14.
According to the sheriff’s office, authorities began investigating Gallagher after receiving “multiple tips” from residents.
Gallagher was arrested Tuesday after the sheriff’s office executed a search warrant at his home. Deputies seized 125 grams of marijuana, the Diazepam pills (also known as Valium), paraphernalia, digital scales and packaging materials.
The estimated street value of the drugs is $1,400, according to the sheriff’s office.
Gallagher does not have any felony criminal convictions in McHenry County, according to court records.
