Protesters arrested ahead of Obama visit

A dozen protesters were arrested in Chicago ahead of President Barack Obama’s visit to his hometown for a pair of fundraisers.

The protesters chained themselves together in the middle of Michigan Avenue on Wednesday. They were protesting about immigration and deportations outside of a hotel where Obama was scheduled to attend a fundraising event.

Other protests were planned, including over environmental issues.
