CLC to hold budget hearing

College of Lake County has set a 2014 tentative operating budget of $98.2 million, essentially the same amount as for the current year. To comment, the public may attended a budget hearing at 6 p.m. June 25. The CLC board will vote on the document afterward. “The college is in good shape financially, and this budget shows that we are being fiscally responsible,” said board Chairman Amanda Howland. “We will continue to look for ways to cut costs without hurting students.” In a recent presentation to the board, David Agazzi, vice president for administrative affairs, explained the college will achieve significant cost savings in contracts, commodities and utilities.
