Missing Lake Villa woman found

A Lake Villa woman considered missing and endangered was found safe in Chicago early Wednesday, authorities said.

Lake County Sheriff’s Sgt. Sara Balmes said officials were notified of a missing 74-year-old woman who suffers from dementia on Tuesday, May 21, at approximately 5:30 p.m.

Patricia M Simonsen, of the 23000 block of Petite Lake Road, was last seen around 1:45 p.m. on Green Bay Road, between Lake-Cook Road and Wesley Road in Glencoe, after she was involved in a traffic accident.

Authorities said she was driving a dark blue 2013 Mazda CX5 and that suffered passenger-side damage in the accident.

Authorities said Simonsen was found about 4:30 a.m. Wednesday.
