Eight Harper players nab all-Region honors

Some good news came to the Harper College baseball program on Tuesday, as eight Hawks players were honored with all-Region selections.

A pair of freshmen — pitcher Josh Lazzarato and designated hitter Mike Miguel — were named to the first team.

Sophomore transfer Chris Bobo was recognized for his prowess on the mound, and sophomore catcher Kevin Robinson (Conant) also was placed on the first team.

The Hawks had a pair of players at two position groups, infielders and outfield, make the second team. Kurt Becker (Palatine) and Theo Yfantis (Wheeling) both made the second team as infielders along with sophomore outfielders Cory Kay (St. Viator) and Andrew Skinner.

Bobo and Robinson were both first-team choices on the all-North Central Community College Conference team, while Yfantis, Kay and Skinner made the second team.
