Cougars drop heartbreaker to Kernels

The Cougars (20-21) had provided some fireworks of their own. Trailing by 2 runs with two outs in the top of the ninth, David Bote smashed a 2-run homer off Alex Muren to tie the game at 7-7.

Starter Jose Rosario make his Cougars debut, pitching 4 innings and allowing 2 hits and 1 earned run. Reliever Ian Dickson (1-2) took the loss, working 4 innings while allowing allowing 7 hits and 5 runs with 4 strikeouts.

The Cougars had tied the game at 5-5 in the sixth inning on Rock Shoulders’ 2-run homer.
