Discover Schaumburg parks on day for enjoying the outdoors

Schaumburg Park District will take part in National Kids to Parks Day on May 18.

National Kids to Parks Day is a nationwide day of outdoor play organized by the National Park Trust.

The event encourages children across the country to explore neighborhood parks.

The district encourages families to take a spring stroll around Volkening Lake, 900 W. Schaumburg Road.

Families can enjoy the fresh air and scenic beauty, including the lake, flower beds, Tribute Park and picnic area.
