Sky dominates Liberty in exhibition test

WNBA rookie Elena Delle Donne put up 17 points in her first professional appearance as the Sky defeated the New York Liberty 85-67 Wednesday in a preseason game at Chicago State University.

The Sky got a lot of help from the bench. Guard Allie Quigley had 14 points and guard Shay Murphy scored 8 of her 10 points late in the first quarter as the Sky jumped to an early lead.

After a tight first quarter, the Sky closed the first half ahead by 17 points and kept a double-digit cushion on the Liberty for most of the remaining time.

New York limited all-star center Sylvia Fowles to 8 points and 7 rebounds. Sky guard Epiphanny Prince scored 13 points and Sharnee Zoll-Norman collected 7 assists.

Chicago native Cappie Pondexter led the New York Liberty with 14 points, and teammate Alex Montgomery also had 14 points.
