Friends of the Parks Sponsor a Park Clean-Up Day

The Des Plaines Park District and the Friends of the Parks thank all of the organizations that volunteered on Saturday, May 11, to help clean up and beautify the parks. Volunteers from the Iroquois Community School Cub Scout Pack 997, the Des Plaines Kiwanis Club, members of The Frisbie Senior Center, and Members of the Senior Citizens' Police Academy joined the Friends of the Parks to pick up trash at Lake Park, Kiwanis Park, Jaycee Park, and West Park. “We appreciate the community's time and dedication helping ready the parks for the summer,” said Paul Cathey, Superintendent of Parks and Planning. “Our Parks Department is committed to keeping all of our facilities and parks in top condition, and we hope everyone will come out and play.”
