Itasca’s Gogo chief named CEO of the Year

Itasca’s Gogo President and CEO Michael Small was named CEO of the Year at the Illinois Technology Association’s annual CityLIGHTS Awards Gala. The Illinois Technology Association’s CityLIGHTS Awards are an annual celebration of the growth and vitality of Illinois’ technology community. The CEO of the Year Award is presented to the company CEO who has led successful company growth through leadership, ability to attract and retain talented resources, financial accomplishments and strategy for continued company growth.

“Obviously, it’s an incredible honor to be the recipient of this year’s CEO of the Year award, especially given all of the successful technology leaders and companies that help fuel the tech community in Chicago and Illinois,” said Small. “To me, this award is more of a reflection of the strength and commitment of Gogo’s more than 600 dedicated employees.”

It is the third year in a row that Gogo has received an award from the association. In 2011, Gogo received a “Rising Star” award, which represents the company which, through innovation in products, services or business approach, has grown to become a serious competitor in the marketplace. In 2012, the company won a “New Concept” award for its Gogo Vision product

Gogo is a provider of in-flight connectivity and a pioneer in wireless in-flight digital entertainment solutions.
