Farmers market opens at state fairgrounds

SPRINGFIELD — The Illinois Products Farmers' Market is opening for its sixth season at the state fairgrounds in Springfield.

Beginning this week, the market will be held in the Commodities Pavilion every Thursday evening through Oct. 17, except during the Illinois State Fair and on July 4. The July 4 market will be rescheduled to Wednesday, July 3. Hours are from 4 to 7 p.m.

Doctors and staff from Springfield Clinic will offer weekly health screenings and educational programs related to nutrition, fitness and wellness at the market. Springfield Clinic is a sponsor of the Illinois Products Farmers' Market.
