Stevenson's softball field had yielded just two over-the-fence home runs before this season.

On Tuesday, Carmel Catholic's Jenny Behan become the third player to pull off the feat this season.

"That's 3 in like in 2 weeks," said Stevenson coach Larry Friedrichs, whose own Abby O'Connor on Saturday became the first player ever to hit two over-the-fence homers (both this year) at the Patriots' field.

Behan's shot, which cleared the 255-feet sign in center field, helped lift Carmel to a 14-10 win in a nonconference slugfest that featured 26 hits.

"It was a line-drive shot," Friedrichs said.

Behan, a sophomore who's already committed to play Division I softball for James Madison, also tripled, driving in 2 runs on the day. Kathleen Felicelli (2-for-4) and Sarah Koesser (3-for-5, 2 doubles, 2 runs, 4 RBI) also had big days at the plate for Carmel (14-5).
