Prospect wins twice, takes third at Moline

Prospect dropped its opening match of tournament play in Moline, in penalty kicks to Prairie School, on Friday.

But the Knights rebounded with two decisive wins on Saturday to take third place in the tournament.

In a 3-0 victory over Niles West, Emily Novak scored twice and Sarah LaCost once.

In a 2-0 win against Pleasant Valley, Iowa, Rachel Suarez and Alli McCable both had a goal and an assist.

Knights keeper Eileen McTigue had shutouts in all three matches Prospect improved to 11-4-2 overall.

Elk Grove 2, Schaumburg 0: The visiting Grenadiers scored twice in the second half, with Sarah Stram assisted by Nikki Zaino and Emily Wary assisted by Kelly Naughton, in Mid-Suburban League play.

Melissa Solorio stopped 8 shots for Elk Grove (8-3,6-2), and Tressa Palcheck stopped 5 shots for the Saxons.
