NRA defender of economic interests

How ironic. Almost immediately after the NRA killed the legislation that would have required background checks for the sale of guns, a gunpowder explosion caused death and mayhem in Boston.

Not so long ago the NRA successfully protected the “rights” of bombers such as the Boston bombers by blocking legislation that would have required manufacturers of gunpowder — such as the gunpowder used in Boston — to include in their product microscopic identifiers so that in the investigation of bombings the manufacturer and point of sale of the homicidal explosive could promptly be determined and the apprehension of those guilty aided by this information.

I do not believe the NRA when it says it is simply a defender of the Second Amendment. As far as I can see, it is a defender of the economic interests of gun and explosives manufacturers — no more and no less.
