SIU-Carbondale official takes job in Alabama

CARBONDALE, Ill. — The assistant to the chancellor of Southern Illinois University in Carbondale has taken a job in Alabama.

The (Carbondale) Southern Illinoisan reports Jake Baggott is to begin his new role as executive director of the University of Alabama-Birmingham’s health-and-wellness program in July.

Baggott has assisted Southern Illinois University Chancellor Rita Cheng since 2010. Prior to that, he was associate director of the campus’ student health and wellness program.

Some of Baggott’s duties in Alabama will include overseeing renovation of that school’s new student health center.
