Elmhurst streets open

All streets in Elmhurst have been reopened on Saturday, said Elmhurst Service Officer Lynn Howell.

The town’s website advises Elmhurst residents and businesses to apply for federal aid once its determined. Friday, acting Mayor Levin took the first step by signing a Declaration of Disaster for Elmhurst. Governor Patrick Quinn followed by declaring several counties in Illinois, including DuPage as disaster areas. In order to be eligible for relief aid, President Obama must declare the areas affected by this week’s storm a federal disaster.
