Amtrak beefs up security after Boston bombing
Passengers getting on and off trains at Chicago’s Union Station can see for themselves security measures that Amtrak is taking in the wake of Monday’s bombing at the Boston Marathon.
Bomb-sniffing dogs and security officers have been deployed to the station Tuesday. Amtrak is telling customers to be extra careful not to leave their bags unattended and to report to police or Amtrak any unattended bags near the trains, vehicles or the station.
Amtrak spokesman Marc Magliari says Amtrak security has been beefed up at all its stations. He also says that trains are running on schedule.
