Anti-Poverty walk/run fundraiser set for May 4

The 6th Annual Anti-Poverty “Why I Walk/Run” fundraiser is set for Saturday, May 4. The 7K/4.3-mile run begins at 10 a.m. and the walk at 10:10 a.m. at the Community Action Partnership building, 1200 Glen Flora Ave., Waukegan. Check-in will be from 9 to 9:45 a.m. For applications, sponsorship opportunities, map and other details visit www.whyIwalk-run.org. Registration packets also are available at the CAP office or by contacting Lisa Hayes, (847) 249-4330 or lisa.hayes@caplakecounty.org. For more 47 years, CAPLC, a nonprofit organization, has administered the Lake County Head Start (Early Childhood Development Program), Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), Youth and Family Services (Emergency Assistance, Food Pantry and Summer Day Camp), Weatherization, RSVP and affordable housing programs. This event is open to the public.
