Taste of Chicago to add food trucks for concerts

CHICAGO — City officials have announced the annual Taste of Chicago festival will add food trucks during concerts for the first time.

Chicago's food fest features evening concerts at the Petrillo Music Shell in Grant Park. Food trucks will serve concertgoers this year, accepting the same food and beverage tickets as the event's restaurant booths.

The trucks will park on the concrete path just east of the pavilion's lawn seating. They'll begin sales one hour before each evening concert and serve food all during the concert.

Taste of Chicago runs July 10-14.

In addition to truck operators having a new place to peddle food, the Food Network's "Great Food Truck Race" will film an episode in Chicago in June. The show plans to shoot for three days at sites throughout the city.
