Love INC of Lake County Announces 3rd Annual “Teacups for Christ” Benefit

Gather the girls and come join Love INC of Lake County for their third annual “Teacups for Christ” benefit event. This ladies afternoon is scheduled for Saturday, April 20, 2013, at Gurnee Community Church (4555 Old Grand Ave in Gurnee). Browse a variety of over twenty vendors and then have an afternoon catered Tea with scones, petite sandwiches and desserts. Shopping begins at 10:00 a.m. and lasts until 3:00 p.m., with tea served at 11:30 a.m.

The entrance fee is $15, and each guest is asked to bring a complete place setting (plate, silverware, bowl, cup and saucer) which will be donated to the Starter Kit ministry at Love INC of Lake County, a non-profit organization that works with local churches to help bridge the poverty gap that exists in our community. “Starter Kits” are a combination of basic kitchen and household items that are distributed by Love INC volunteers to families throughout the Lake County area.

In 2012, Love INC, through their partner churches, was able to deliver 247 household Starter Kits. However, the demand for Starter Kits by local families in need still continues to rise each year.

“This is the third year for the ‘Teacups for Christ' fundraiser, and the support we have received has truly made a significant impact on our Starter Kit ministry,” said Carl “Spark” Ball, director of Love INC of Lake County. “Your donations help not only to propel our ministry, but also to generate awareness of the poverty that exists right here in our own backyard.”

“Teacups for Christ” is still accepting additional vendors, and those interested can purchase a table spot for $30. Vendor products will be seen by over 100 women.

This event is open to the public, but a reservation is required. To make a reservation, or to purchase a vendor spot, visit www.loveinclakecounty.org, or contact Linda Dlabay at (847) 648-8308 or at lindadlabay@comcast.net.
