Allen pitches Stevenson past Warren

Matt Allen was on his game, and Stevenson’s baseball team needed him to be Tuesday.

Allen pitched the Patriots to a 1-0 win over visiting Warren in a good North Suburban Lake Division game.

Allen, who struck out eight and walked four, and Blue Devils pitcher Adam Reuss each allowed just 4 hits.

Stevenson (3-4, 3-0) got a double from Michael Banakis.

Grayslake Central 13, Dundee-Crown 3: Winning pitcher Jack Spicer survived a shaky first inning and the host Rams found their bats to win the Fox Valley Fox Division game in five innings.

Ryan Fontana, Jay Hoffman, Matt Loeffl, Justin Dooley and Kyle Balling all had 2 hits for Grayslake Central. Balling and Kyle Clark each drove in 3 runs for the Rams. Clark had a bases-loaded double.

Libertyville 15, Zion-Benton 5: Kevin Calamari doubled twice and knocked in 3 runs for the Wildcats in the North Suburban Lake game.

Evan Skoug had a double and 4 RBI for Libertyville, which also got doubles from Matt Vogt, Matt Reed and Hunter Van Wagner. Alec Semersky tripled for the Wildcats. Vogt, Semersky and P.J. Newmann each contributed a pair of RBI.

Nate Cote earned the victory.

Lake Forest Academy 10, Vernon Hills 5: The Cougars got a triple from Tyler Feece and 2 RBI from Joey Marras in their nonconference loss.
