The Chicago Rush escaped from Texas with their first Arena Football League win of the season, defeating the San Antonio Talons 48--41.

Two defensive touchdowns helped the Rush (1-2) secure the Friday night road victory, with the first coming on the third drive of the game as Rush linebacker Kelvin Morris picked up a fumbled snap and scored from 11 yards out to give the Rush a 14-7 lead.

A 4-yard swing pass from Rush quarterback Carson Coffman to wide receiver Rodney Wright completed the first-half scoring for the Rush, which led 28-21 at the break.

The Rush added two more touchdowns in the third period with Coffman rushing for a score and defensive lineman Brian McNally scooping up a loose ball in the end zone for his first professional touchdown.

A pair of fourth-quarter TDs by the Talons (0-2) closed the gap to 42-41 with 7:16 to play, but Coffman hit J.J. Payne for a 13-yard TD reception to preserve the win with 1:35 to play.

Coffman finished the night going 16 of 38 passing for 199 yards and 3 touchdowns, and he added 2 touchdowns on the ground. On the defensive side, Joe Phinisee collected 9 tackles and 1 interception.
