Moraine Valley sweeps Elgin CC
The Elgin Community College baseball team lost both ends of an Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference doubleheader Saturday, falling 15-14 and 8-7.
John Menken (2-for-4) had a triple and Kyle Leone (2-for-4, 4 RBI) had 2 doubles for the Spartans in Game 1. Bobby Thorson (2-for-4, 2B), Sam Komel (3-for-5, 2B, 3 RBI), Andy Kovarik (RBI), Mike Murphy (2-for-3, RBI) and Ryan Ford (2-for-4, RBI) also contributed. Kovarik was the losing pitcher.
In the 8-7 loss, Menken (2-for-3, 4 RBI) had a home run for ECC (10-9), while Thorson and Sean Reszotko each had RBI. Chris Gorman took the loss.
