Nice to see eyesore torn down

East Dundee residents have seen the long vacant old Ford dealership finally torn down. For over a decade the abandoned building sat along Route 72 as an eyesore.

The owner of the building was not using it anymore nor maintaining it. The village board and staff tried to find ways to improve or demolish this building, but no solution was found until late 2012.

Trustee Lael Miller found the local businessman Tom Roeser. Mr. Roeser bought the building, agreed to demolish it, and is putting the land up for sale. Personally, I have driven past this abandoned old building every day for the past 10 years. I want to publicly thank Trustee Lael Miller for finding a solution, working for our village, and helping our property values.
