Catlett’s 4 HRs lead Judson
The Judson University softball team got a 5-for-5 game with 4 home runs and 8 RBI from Allison Catlett Friday to beat Ashford University 12-4 in the second game of the St. Francis tournament. The Eagles but Huntington 7-4 in their first game of the day.
Catlett, who also had a double, led Judson’s 17-hit attack against Ashford that also included contributions from Brianna Tennyson (2-for-4, RBI), Shannon Nevins (2-for-3, RBI), Maddie Smith (3-for-4, 2B), Hallie Niewold (RBI) and Amanda Hart (2-for-3, RBI). Katie Kirker picked up the win, allowing just 1 hit with 11 strikeouts and 6 walks.
In the win over Huntington, Catlett was 2-for-3 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI and Bri DiGiola had a home run and 2 RBI. Hart added a double and an RBI for the Eagles (23-7).
Tennyson was the winning pitcher, allowing 7 hits with 7 strikeouts.
