Has served Elgin with distinction

I actively endorse former Councilman Terry Gavin for Elgin City Council — 4 year term. Terry has worked vigorously in support of the Elgin taxpayers with astute knowledge and understanding of the workings of Elgin’s government budgets, planning, code enforcement and grant funding.

He has pledged to fight for the taxpaying citizens by working to repeal the double taxation via the new garbage tax, the new natural gas tax and the new utility tax. He is currently fighting hard against the upcoming Elgin stormwater tax.

Terry has served the community with distinction and integrity as chairman of the State Street Task Force, co-chairman of the Elgin Gang & Drug Task Force, serving two years on the Elgin Liquor Commission, chairman of the Elgin Blue Ribbon Commission on Education & Job Training as well as a current voting member of the Hanover Township Mental Health Board awarding grants to local organizations. He currently volunteers as a Medicare counselor at the Hanover Township Senior Center.

Terry has a proven record of experience, leadership and command of the issues on a local, state and national level and has the courage to stand his ground fighting for the taxpaying citizens against special interest groups. He will make the difficult decisions our city requires regarding all aspects of city government. He is a loyal friend, good neighbor, seeker of truth and fights for right. He welcomes open communication and takes the time to learn the facts of any issue while offering an all inclusive open door policy.
