Mayoral candidate supports ethics law

As a former schoolteacher, I’m thrilled that we have Jotham Stein — as a mayoral candidate — to look out for our and our children’s futures. Jotham gets my vote because he brings the right mix to local leadership — he’s focused on ethics and has the professional experience to help make St. Charles a better place.

His proposed ethics ordinance would prevent him from using his position as mayor to benefit himself or his business. To me this is common sense and I am at a loss as to why the other candidates would not be equally enthusiastic about supporting such an ordinance. His professional experience illustrates how he is best positioned to recruit new businesses to St. Charles and work with existing businesses.

I love my fellow teachers, but I’m not confident that they make the best mayors. Jotham Stein’s strengths are the best match for St. Charles’ needs. St. Charles needs new businesses to make the city come alive. St. Charles also needs someone who can help us reduce our tax burden and keep our strong city services. Only with more money from new businesses can we get to this end.

Jotham has a proven track record of effective negotiation and managing sophisticated business dealings. He’ll put us first and he’ll get the businesses into town.
