KFC to offer boneless chicken

NEW YORK — KFC wants to make it easier for people to eat chicken so it’s getting rid of the bones.

The fast-food chain is introducing fried boneless chicken chunks on April 14 as an alternative to its traditional breast, thigh and drumstick pieces.

The new boneless pieces are about twice the size of KFC’s crispy strips and come in white or dark meat. Customers can order them for the meal deals.

Spokesman Rick Maynard noted that KFC has been focusing on more portable options in recent years to reflect the growing popularity of nuggets and strips. He said it took two to three years to develop the boneless chicken.
