'Body Smart Gardening' at garden club meeting April 17

Everyone is invited to meet Jan Hanson on April 17th, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. as she speaks at the Tri-Village Garden Club meeting at the Poplar Creek Public Library at 1405 South Park in Streamwood, IL 60107.

Jan will be speaking on “ Body Smart Gardening”, a Univ. of Illinois Ext. program. Learn ways to prevent injury as we get back into our gardens. Jan has been gardening for 27 years and a Master Gardener since 2007. Her education in Art and Design reflects in her own garden which has been featured in many garden and pond walks over the last eight years. She will be speaking within the Master Gardener Program. Jan has offered advice to homeowners while working Help Desks at local libraries (including our own Bartlett library) and through the Help Line at the Extension Office.

Jan volunteers at Kline Creek Farm, rehabilitation facilities and presents Squirmin' Herman worm lessons to 3rd graders in DuPage County. Jan's varied interests in gardening include architectural elements in garden design, as well as, garden photography, ponds and water gardening and perennials. She was the recipient of the Village of Bartlett "Pride in Ownership Award" in 2005 and the "Pillar of the Community Award" in 2006. In 2010, Jan received a State Outstanding Master Gardener Award. Poplar Creek Library offers meeting room space to the community. It neither endorses nor sponsors the event or presenting individual or organization.
