Island Lake should stand for honesty

The government of Island Lake should be honest, fair and lawful and should represent the taxpayers of the community. But that’s not what is happening.

Instead, we have been subjected to a “circus act” that finds the imminent return of the fraudulent practices that Mayor Herrmann has fought so hard to stop. At the heart of this corruption is the ongoing animosity revolving around the warranted dismissal of Anthony Sciarrone as chief of police.

This has provoked three former police officers to vindictively attack Mayor Herrmann and current Police Chief McCorkle verbally and online. We cannot forget the history of these individuals. Yet, they continue to bully and intimidate the honest taxpayers of Island Lake.

On April 9, we urge you to take a stand against the campaign that threatens to return our community to the “bad old days.” You and your families all deserve better than this.

We spent the time to investigate, to research, to document the wrongs that have befallen this community but our warnings have been largely ignored. Don’t let the circus deprive you of your vote.
