Glenbard South’s Trzaska 1-hits Naperville North

Jane Trzaska fired a 1-hitter, striking out 10, and No. 13 Glenbard South edged host Naperville North 2-1 in the season opener for both teams Tuesday.

Tied at 1-1 in the fourth, Taylor Carli doubled for Glenbard South and moved to third on an Ashley Cohen bloop single. Payton Carli’s bunt single scored her sister with what proved to be the game-winning run.

Lexi Ricketts singled, walked and scored Naperville North’s only run.

Lake Park 15, Batavia 2:Stephanie Starr was 2-for-3 with a double and drove in 2 runs, and No. 20 Lake Park (5-0, 1-0 Upstate Eight Conference) erupted for 9 runs in the first inning in Batavia. Winning pitcher Danielle Jecmen (4-0) also doubled and drove in 2 runs.Montini 8, Addison Trail 1:Morganne Evans hit a 3-run homer, her second of the year and Montini#146;s sixth, and Cristina Barrett doubled twice for the Broncos (4-2) in Lombard. Kelly Delawder had 3 hits and Bri Murray drove in Addison Trail#146;s only run.Metea Valley 5, Streamwood 4:Alexa Caputo walked and came around to score the eventual game-winning run with two outs in the top of the eighth for the Mustangs (1-1, 1-0 Upstate Eight Conference).WW South 8, Hinsdale South 1:Maggie Graham was 3-for-5 with 4 RBI, Jenny Harbakus 3-for-3 and winning pitcher Sammy Granger struck out six for the Tigers.York 9, Wheaton North 8:Angela Scalzitti was 2-for-3, scored 3 runs and stole 3 bases, and the Dukes (1-4) scored a run in the bottom of the sixth to win it in Elmhurst. Abby Solem had 2 RBI and scored twice and Sarah Milkowski was 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI for York.Lisle 5, Aurora Central 2:Summer Stitt scattered 5 hits for the visiting Lions (1-0).Morton 7, Hinsdale Central 5:Alexa Heydenberk had 3 doubles for visiting Hinsdale Central.Ridgewood 16, Fenton 9:Host Ridgewood put up a 9-run fifth to erase an 8-7 Fenton lead and went on to the win in the Metro Suburban Conference opener. Nicole Susmarski was 3-for-3 with a triple, 2 runs and 2 RBI, Kelly Kielbasa had 2 triples and scored twice and Rachel Leschewski homered for Fenton (5-1, 0-1).
