Wheaton firefighters probe cause of house fire
Authorities were trying Tuesday to determine what sparked a house fire Monday evening on the 1300 block of Shady Lane in Wheaton.
No injuries were reported in the fire, which was reported about 7:45 p.m.
Firefighters said the blaze was confined to the home’s first floor and was brought under control in roughly 15 minutes. The basement and second floor sustained smoke and water damage.
No one was home at the time of the fire, authorities said.
Investigators from the Wheaton Fire Department and the DuPage County Fire Investigation Task Force are probing the cause of the blaze. No damage estimates are available, authorities said.
