Lake Park sweeps Oak Park

Maria Zepeda’s two-run, one-out double in the bottom of the seventh inning rallied No. 20 Lake Park to a 4-3 win over Oak Park on Thursday, capping a doubleheader sweep.

Lake Park (4-0) took the first game 11-1, blowing things open with an 8-run sixth. Sam Cummings was 4-for-4 with a homer, double, 3 runs batted in and 3 runs scored, Kelly O’Neill had a solo homer to start the sixth and Zepeda ended it with a bases-clearing triple.

St. Francis 11, AC Valley (Pa.) 1:Maggie Remus tossed a 1-hitter, and the Spartans (3-0) pounded out 16 hits to cap off a 3-0 trip to Orlando.St. Charles North 9, Montini 6:Morganne Evans homered for Montini (1-2), but No. 6 St. Charles North (1-0) rallied from an 8-3 deficit after two innings for the win at the Rosemont Dome. Mickey Goetz went 3-for-4 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI for the North Stars (1-0).Zion-Benton 3, York 1:Angela Scalzitti went 3-for-3 with a stolen base and Sarah Milkowski tripled and scored the only run for York (0-1) at the Rosemont Dome.Fenton 19, Chicago Academy 1:Jocelyn Souvannasy fired a 1-hitter, and Fenton (4-0) exploded for 14 runs in the fourth inning.Plainfield East 9, Metea Valley 5:Adri Cura homered twice and drove in 5 runs for Plainfield South in both teams#146; season opener.
