Lake Zurich gets new fire engine, ambulance

The Lake Zurich Fire Rescue Department, in conjunction with the Lake Zurich Rural Fire Protection District, has received a new 2013 Pierce Fire Engine and a new 2013 International Ambulance. “In accordance with our fleet replacement plan, we have recently acquired a new ambulance — to replace one that has been in service for 15 years — and a new fire engine,” Fire Chief David Wheelock said. The ambulance is a 2013 International 4300 chassis with a Medtec AD170 ambulance body. It replaces a 1997 vehicle that was several years beyond its expected replacement date. Pierce Manufacturing-Florida supplied the engine that is built on a custom chassis to meet the department’s needs. It carries 1,000 gallons of water, a full complement of hand tools and an assortment of ladders. It is housed at Station 2.
