Amtrak train adds stop in Bill Clinton’s hometown

Amtrak’s Texas Eagle has added a stop in Hope, Ark., birthplace of former President Bill Clinton.

Starting April 4, passengers can get off the train in Hope as they travel the route from Chicago to San Antonio, Texas.

Hope, Ark., is now a National Park Service historic site with ranger-guided tours of the former president’s first home. The southwestern Arkansas community has a population of about 10,000.

The westbound Texas Eagle departs Chicago at 1:45 p.m., arriving in Hope just after 5 a.m. the next morning. The eastbound train leaves Hope at 9:18 p.m. with arrival in Chicago the following afternoon.
