Join night of activities for Earth Hour celebration in Aurora

Submitted by Aurora Green Fest

Aurora Green Fest will present Earth Hour, from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, March 23, at Culture Stock, 43 E. Galena Blvd., Aurora.

Enjoy a night of fun, family-friendly activities as we turn out the lights and join communities, individuals and organizations around the globe for a symbolic hour of solidarity aimed toward raising awareness of energy consumption and its effects on the environment. Activities include drum circle, yoga, meditation, astronomy, storytelling, live acoustic music and more.

Earth Hour is the single largest mass-participation event in the world. Millions of people in more than 7,000 towns and cities in 152 countries are participating. We hope that turning off the lights for even an hour will fuel people’s efforts to work for climate change. No preregistration is required for this free, fun-filled event.

Coming soon is the Recycled Art Workshop from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, April 21, at Aurora Public Library West Branch, 233 S. Constitution Drive, Aurora. Create art from discarded, recycled and found items in this workshop that’s fun for the whole family. Your artwork could even be displayed at Aurora Green Fest.

Now in its fourth year, the Aurora Green Fest is happening from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 8, at Prisco Community Center and features a wide variety of activities, including guest speakers, educational demonstrations and displays, recycling extravaganza, green vendors, food vendors, live music, green car show and more.
