Skynyrd to perform at Naperville’s Ribfest

Lynyrd Skynyrd will help close Naperville’s Ribfest celebration this year with a concert July 7 at Knoch Park near downtown.

Known for the classic “Sweet Home Alabama” and with album sales of more than 30 million worldwide, the band is enshrined in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Other performers scheduled for this year’s Ribfest, sponsored by the Naperville Exchange Club, include Styx on July 3 and Rick Springfield on July 6.

This year’s celebration will run from July 3 through 7 and include the usual mix of family activities, rib vendors and music. All proceeds go to support the elimination of child abuse and domestic violence.

Tickets will go on sale in the spring on ribfest.net.
