The Care and Keeping of Your Antique Quilt Workshop at Museum

Bring your antique quilts for information on the pattern names, dates, fabric history, construction techniques, and lore associated with them. Information on having quilts appraised, careful storage, and cleaning will also be discussed. Ann Wasserman will give you insight into antique and heirloom quilts' special care and handling to preserve for future appreciation. Ann's work as a quiltmaker includes teaching and lecturing, repairing antique quilts, and creating unique art quilts. Her background in anthropology has lead her to enjoy both the social history of quilts and quiltmaking as well as the creative process of expression in her own work.

The workshop is Tuesday, April 9, at 7:00 p.m. at the Arlington Heights Historical Museum, 110 W. Fremont. The fee is $20, preregistration is required online t ahpd.org or in person at any Park District registration office. Use program #1629-3. The current Heritage Gallery exhibit, Quilted Treasures will also be open for viewing.
