Streamwood High School presents ‘Les Miserables’

Streamwood High School for its spring musical this weekend and next will be performing the challenging production of “Les Misérables.”

Producer Barb Thomas says students and parent and community supporters of the theater program have risen to the challenge.

“It’s actually come to life very well. It’s turning out to be a very good show.”

“Les Misérables” will have seven performances, including a matinee. Show times are 7 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, April 4-6, and April 11-13. There also will be a matinee at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 13. All performances are in the auditorium at 701 W. Schaumburg Road.

Tickets are on sale now online at sites.google.com/site/shslesmis2013 or by calling (630) 213-5500, ext. 8639. The student price is $8 and the adult general admission price is $10 before the first performance. Tickets at the door will be $12.

The musical carries the message of freedom and rising above oppression and poverty. In light of the theme, audiences members who buy tickets at the door will receive a $1 ticket price reduction for each nonperishable food item up to three items maximum.
