American Cancer Society honors local volunteers with its Chairman’s Award

The American Cancer Society awarded its prestigious Chairman’s Award for Volunteerism to the local volunteers who spearheaded the DuPage Region’s Onboarding for Success campaign, at the Society’s recent statewide volunteer conference in Chicago.

With the Chairman’s Award, the American Cancer Society honors the state’s top volunteers who lead the fundraising, partnerships and volunteer efforts that make the American Cancer Society mission possible.

The DuPage Regional Board, led by Vice Chair Tyler Prince, developed an orientation program for new board members that allowed volunteers to quickly and easily become acquainted with the Society’s mission, programs and services.

“The American Cancer Society is dedicated to saving lives by helping people stay well, helping people get well, by finding cures and by fighting back,” said Alan D. Lev, chairman of the board of the American Cancer Society’s Illinois Division. “The DuPage Region’s Onboarding for Success campaign provides the crucial support we need to continue to further our life-saving mission and finish the fight against cancer.”
