Salute Inc. turns 10, with hope for future

On Feb. 15 at Arlington Park, Salute, Inc. kicked off its 10th anniversary celebration with its annual family pizza party. This event was a great success as over 500 friends and supporters came out to honor and remember the service and sacrifices our service members and their families make for us on a daily basis.

There are many individuals and companies to thank for making this event possible: Arlington Park; TrainSignal; Royal Die and Stamping; ITW; Glueckert Funeral Home; the Schwak Family; Mobility Works; all the volunteers who made the night just perfect, and of course all the folks who came out to support this event.

There was one other person that we do not want to forget, and that is Kris Stabler from Arlington Park. Kris and her team have been with us since the beginning when we came to her with the idea of doing a family pizza party at Arlington and she opened the door and got things rolling 10 years ago ... thank you Kris!

We know that there are many others who stepped up to make this night a success, and for all the efforts and time put into this event, Mary Beth and I truly salute each of you. We know that there were many new friendships made that night as almost half of those attending the event were new to Salute and from the calls and emails we have received, it is apparent that they will be stepping up to help in some form or fashion.

Again, Mary Beth and I want to thank all who are supporting Salute today and these past 10 years, we hope that we can renew and capture for another 10 years this spirit of support and appreciation as many of our heroes and their families need us more than ever.
