Conant perfect in own tournament

Conant earned three victories on Saturday to take first place in the girls water polo tournament it hosted with a 4-0 record.

The Cougars topped Lane 9-7, St. Charles East 10-2 and Lake Forest 9-5.

Lane went 3-1 and placed second, St. Charles East was 1-3 and place third and Lake Forest was winless and placed fourth.

Carmen Rosas had 5 goals against St. Charles East, and Kaitlyn Claffey had 4 steals to lead Conant.

Against Lake Forest, Rosas had 4 goals and Angela Skittone had 3. Claffey had 5 steals and Dom Murtagh had 4.

Against Lane, Rosas had 7 goals and Skittone had 2.

Goalkeeper Maddy Demaret made 5 saves against St. Charles East and Lake Forest, and she had 3 against Lane.
