St. Baldrick’s event at Cubby Bear:

Cubby Bear North on Milwaukee Avenue in Lincolnshire is a site for a St. Baldrick’s Foundation fundraiser supported by local firefighters in Cook and Lake counties. St. Baldrick’s, a volunteer-driven charity dedicated to raising money for childhood cancer research, will host one of its signature head-shaving events there on Saturday, March 16. More than 300 people are expected to have their heads shaved in solidarity with children trying to overcome cancer. A silent and live auction will be part of the event, with prizes awarded to the top fundraising teams. Organizers are seeking any type of prize or gift in advance of the March 16 fundraiser. To donate online, visit stbaldricks.org. In the past three years, the local St. Baldrick’s event has shaved more than 500 heads, and raised roughly $137,000. About 150 guests are volunteers who are expected to participate at Cubby Bear North. Call (888) 899-BALD for more information.
