Spring dodgeball tourney on tap in Schaumburg

The National Amateur Dodgeball Association and dodgeball enthusiasts will take over the Sport Center, 1141 W. Irving Park Road, this spring. Teams in youth and adult divisions will compete for the title of champions in the annual games and paid bids to the Outdoor National Championships.

The Youth Spring Break Dodgeball Tournament, a Schaumburg CAN (Children — Activity — Nutrition) program which promotes healthy activity for children, is set for March 23 for boys and girls in grades four to 12. Check-in will begin at 9 a.m. with matches following at 10 a.m. Registration deadline for the youth competition is Sunday, March 17. Youth and high school fee is $105 for a team of 6-10 players.

The Adult Spring Tune-Up Tournament for ages 18 and older will be held Saturday, April 6. Check-in will begin at 2 p.m. with matches following at 3 p.m. Men’s, women’s and co-rec divisions are available. Registration deadline for the adult competition is Monday, April 1. Adult fee is $125 for a team of 6-10 players.

The spring tournaments are NADA sanctioned events with games officiated by NADA staff. All players will receive a T-shirt. Team prizes will be awarded to champions.
