Time for wealthy to stop whining, chip in

Time for wealthy to stop whining, chip in

I doubt you’ll print this because your Fence Post seems to root for the privileged, but here you go:

Are we all ready for the truth now? If not, sorry, but here it is: From 2009-2011 the top 1 percent saw an average income gain of 11.4 percent. The rest of us, the 99 percent, experienced an income decline of .04 percent. The last increase in minimum wage was $0.70 back in July 2009. An individual working for minimum wage (based on a 40 hour workweek) saw an increase of about $28. After federal and state taxes. that worked out to be an actual increase of about $19 a week.

The previous administration cut taxes for the wealthy and the privileged. Carrying the debt those cuts created has nearly broken the back of the rest of us, the 99 percent. The president is not a socialist, a Marxist, nor a communist. People who claim he is are merely trying to deflect attention away from the truth, which is this; the rich have gotten richer and the poor got poorer. We lost our jobs, we lost our homes, we lost our savings. And what are we doing about it? We’ve rolled up our sleeves and are doing what we have to in order to get back to where we once were.

Enough of the rhetoric, enough of the name calling, it’s time to get our heads out of the sand. Everyone has taken a financial hit of some kind or another. Enough already; it’s time the wealthy shut up, quit whining and chipped in like the rest of us.
