Some politicians should follow pope’s example

The pope has decided to retire, the first resignation in 600 years. Cardinal Benedict stated, “To love the church means also to have the courage to take difficult, painful decisions, always keeping the good of the church in mind, not oneself.”

If all of our government officials substituted the word country for church and heeded this simple yet very powerful statement, our country would be in a much better place. Some of our political officials should follow in his footsteps and also retire. I believe this is called the common sense factor.
